We have been stocking Chunk of Devon pies, pasties and savories for a long time now and they continue to be great sellers for us.
Based in Ottery St Mary, Chunk of Devon grew out of the back of a butchers shop and they have continued growing ever since. Their products have won over 100 awards over the years from the British Pie Awards to Taste of the West Gold and, to the dismay of their Cornish counterparts, Britain’s Best Cornish Pasty.
Flavours include steak pie with smoked bacon and baby onions, lamb and mutton pie with redcurrant jelly, peas and mint, chicken pasty with spicy chorizo and smoked paprika, pork pie with Devon Scrumpy cider and apples and pork sausage roll with cranberries and mixed herbs. Ford Farm is a West Country Farmhouse cheesemaker idyllically located in the rolling Dorset Downs. All of their cheeses are hand made by a team of expert cheesemakers using methods and recipes dating back hundreds of years. Milk is sourced from local, free-range dairy herds to produce great quality cheese which is continuously graded throughout the maturation process to ensure the best possible taste.
We have recently extended our Ford Farm range to include a variety of their innovative blended cheeses. These include cheddar blended with lime marmalade, chillies and red and green peppers, wensleydale with dried fig and honey, cheddar with port and cheddar with mushrooms and black truffle.

Chinns sausages are well known and highly regarded throughout Devon and the South West and have been hugely popular with our customers.
Established over forty years ago by W. F. Chinn, the business has continued to develop and thrive over the years with owners Tony and Rose Palmer. Based in Crediton, Devon their sausages are made to a secret recipe developed in the 1950’s by W. F. Chinn himself using locally sourced, West Country meat.
There are a variety of flavours available from traditional Cumberland, Pork & Leek and Pork & Honey to the more unusual Pork & Stilton, Smoky Chorizo and Pork & Marmalade. Back for Christmas 2017 is their delicious Pork & Cranberry sausages and Pork Cocktail sausages which are perfect for buffets. All are available in packs of four 225g and packs of eight 450g.

The Taw Valley range includes something for everyone from creamy Mild to full bodied Tasty or Tickler. Based in North Tawton, Devon master cheesemakers use time honoured methods, high quality milk from surrounding farms and traditional recipes to create great tasting, traditional cheddars.
The Sharpham Estate rustic cheese with garlic and chives is made using milk from their own herd of Jersey cattle. The light and creamy character of the cheese is complimented by fresh pureed garlic and chopped chives. All cheeses are made by hand using traditional cheesemaking practices.
Made by Ford Farm in Dorset, this Wensleydale and Cranberry is always a great addition to any cheeseboard, the sweetness of the cranberries and the creaminess of the cheese go together perfectly for a deliciously full flavour.

Georgie Porgie’s Puddings are a new addition for us. Based in Budleigh Salterton, East Devon, the company was established in 1994 with one traditional pudding recipe, similar to the kind your grandma may have made. Since then another four fruit puddings have been developed alongside a variety of traditionally steamed sponges.
George’s delicious cider and apple pudding is made using Westcountry cider, fresh apples and brandy and was launched on St George’s Day 1997. One was even given to the Queen!
His orange and Cointreau pudding is made with oranges, fresh orange juice and you guessed it, Cointreau and is bursting with rich, citrus flavours.
George’s chocolate orange and Baileys pudding combines dessert and after dinner drinks with its explosion of citrus and the creaminess of Baileys liqueur.
The recipe on which George built the business, traditional Christmas pudding made using brandy, rum, currants, sultanas and raisins. A delicious festive treat this Christmas!

Waterhouse Fayre jams, chutneys and marmalades have been great sellers for us since we began stocking them. Based in Mid Devon, the company has grown from strength to strength and their products can now be found throughout the South West in local farm shops, delicatessens and shops specializing in local produce.
For Christmas this year Waterhouse have launched new selection boxes for their popular marmalades, jams and chutneys. Each selection box contains four 120g jars and is beautifully gift wrapped, making them an ideal gift this Christmas.
Flavours include Devon real ale chutney, tangy lemon and ginger marmalade, spicy tomato chutney and sweet pear and honey jam; there is really something everyone will enjoy and some new flavour combinations to discover.
It’s been a little while since we have posted on here and we have a few new products to let you know about.
Cornish Olive Stall olives have become a great seller for us, with ten popular flavours including Lemon, Basil Pesto, Red Hot Chilli and Rosemary and Garlic there is something for everyone and the practical, resealable pouches keep these olives as fresh as when they were packed.
Lodge Farm Kitchen gourmet frozen meals are a recent addition. All homemade and hand prepared using fresh and local ingredients, these are a great tasting, fast and convenient alternative to cooking. The range includes butternut squash, coconut and coriander curry, tender beef and mushroom pie and creamy haddock and dill gratin. All are available in both large and small sizes.
Christmas is fast approaching and we are looking forward to our Christmas brochure arriving in the next few weeks. In the meantime we are now stocking the Chunk of Devon Christmas range which this year includes local venison and port pie with mushrooms and crushed juniper berries, turkey, ham and cranberry pasty and a pork and cranberry sausage roll.
